The "Midnight Special".

This Camaro is one of the 1533 SS396 that was built in the Norwood, Ohio plant, by reading the trimtag we can see that it left the factory painted in #67, Classic Copper, open to see the colour.

We also know that the car was built in the fourth week of May 1971, it can be read from the 05D combination.

The interior was 777, a sandalwood upholstery. As it should there are front disc brakes stabilisers front and rear, holding the positraction rear axle.

The old engine is long gone, now there are a freshly rebuilt 402 big block engine in the engine department.  The present engine is of 408 CI displacement, running a lot of good parts and carefully put together, producing about 490 crank horsepowers and still very reliable.

The true story is still partly unknown, I will tell it as I have been told by people I have talked to.

The person bringing the car to Sweden may have been a guy called Charlie, probably in the early eighties

Open this and follow the story of Charlie as the owner of the car.

Benny Björk followed as the next owner in the row.

Open this and read about Bennys time as the owner.

Some years later, in 2005, the car was again for sale and the owner to come Kristian Albertsson saw the advertise and became interested.

He and Benny had some contact over the phone and one day Kristian turned up and bought the car, still not legal to drive in Sweden.

Open this and see more about Kristians years as the owner of the Camaro.
